DIY Field Livery – Spaces Available (Updated January ’26)

Geldings and mares welcome. Give your horse the freedom to live naturally with friends, forage, and plenty of space. We offer a calm, well-managed environment with a small, friendly herd and owners who work together as a team.

What We Offer: A thoughtful mix of grass track, ad-lib hay, and Equicentral-style rotational grazing. Large hard-standing area with three field shelters (one convertible into an emergency stable). Hay barn and rug barn. Monitored hay in spring/summer; ad-lib round-bale hay with ring feeders in winter. Grass fenced arena. Feed room and small kitchen. Storage room. Excellent hacking straight onto Epsom Downs. Parking for cars, trailers, and lorries. Hard-standing tie-up area for grooming, farrier, and vet visits. Optional indoor/outdoor school at neighbouring yard.

What We’re Looking For: We run the field as a shared, supportive DIY arrangement. Looking for someone who enjoys being part of a small team and is happy to share the daily care. Ability to do some AM/PM weekday and weekend shifts. Shifts are flexible and shared fairly. Holiday cover available. Friendly, reliable, and committed to good herd management.

Important Notes: Not suitable for laminitic horses. No facilities for Shetlands or minis. Hay not included in monthly price.

Price: £175 per month (excluding hay).

I have been a member at this DIY field livery for a while now, and it’s been such a lovely environment. The field is beautiful and expertly managed. It’s really relaxed and a sanctuary for all which really reflects in the horses. If you’re looking for a chilled-out place where your horse can just be a horse I’d definitely recommend it!

I have been a livery at this field for nearly four years and my horses have all been so settled here. Windy Acres is a beautiful, bio-diverse field in a great location for hacking. The field is well run, with the horses happiness and welfare being the top priority.

Lovely bunch of people, v convenient for hacking on downs and local facilities, and fab natural setting with lots of interesting areas and a hill to keep them fit going back and forth from troughs.
