Red Lion is a super yard. It is a privilege to be on such a lovely yard with a great atmosphere, fab facilities and ultimately to know how well all the horses are cared for. And Lisa has enabled me to compete at a level I didn’t think I ever would.

What a fabulous yard Lisa keys runs. So friendly and helpful. Lisa is a brilliant coach. I achieved more than I ever thought I would on my horse under her training.
I have watched Lisa coach all different levels. I’ve also watched her riding/training all different levels of horses. It’s so interesting and inspirational watching the improvements she makes to riders and horses.

Lovely yard in lovely countryside. Very friendly yard, with a good mix of serious and lower key competition riders. Lisa Keys offers really good training and teaching, which has improved my riding no end. Excellent local hacking, lots of tracks and very pretty scenery. Also good facilities such as parking and a decent loo! To date, I've shared 3 horses based at the yard and each has been happy and relaxed there.

Review by Meghan Fay, 3 years ago
I have been at Red Lion farm for 2.5 years, sometimes with 1 and sometimes with 2 horses and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Lisa is a wonderful, talented trainer who is gifted at unlocking a horse's potential. She is honest about where you and your horse need improvement which is so important because then you actually know what to work on to improve! She also cares deeply about the horses and riders who she looks after and trains.
When I arrived with my first horse, he was wild to turn out and quite spooky! 2.5 years later and with the management at Red Lion, he is a total teddy bear. It is the same with all horses that come to the yard. With consistent training, good feed, a quiet atmosphere and calm handling, they all settle.
Lisa has also helped me rehab my horse from a suspensory injury (he had before I moved to the yard). When I arrived, he was only walking. Now, after 2.5 years he is jumping newcomers. Without her, I really don't believe he would have made a recovery. She taught me how to strengthen him and to ride him in a way that is more like physio each time I ride. She really teaches you to ride for each horse.
Finally, the atmosphere on the yard is one I think that is almost impossible to find on other yards. Our horses live like horses (they get amazing turn out and get muddy!) but they sparkle on show days, we go out of the way to help each other pack for shows when we are running late, to cheer at the side of the arena when we do well but to pick each other up when things inevitably don't go our way. Our long horsebox drives and hacks together are almost as fun as shows!
If you want a team atmosphere, excellent training and real horsemanship than Red Lion is the place to be in my opinion.

Red Lion Farm has the best facilities around. The manège never floods or freezes and there’s a full set of jumps with a variety of fillers. The horses are turned out all year round. The hacking is excellent and there are several competition venues near by. Lisa is an excellent and patient trainer with a wealth of experience. I would highly recommend this 5* livery.
