Welcome to Penmeneth Meadow (Katy Malone Livery & Coaching)!
Penmeneth Meadow is a small retirement livery haven in Woolley, near Kilkhampton, Bude, North Cornwall. Ideal for retired, elderly, young, injured or resting horses requiring around-the-clock professional care. The Penmeneth herds have access to 7 acres of sloping Cornish countryside (with a sea view!) in small herds or pairs to suit the horses’ wellbeing and dietary requirements. Access to year-round additional forage is included in the livery package.
Owned and managed by Katy Malone, a BHS APC Stage 4 Senior Yard Manager, with a career spanning 20-years providing full and competition livery at her own premises in the UK, and as an international showjumping groom, based in Italy and Denmark. Katy lives on site, providing peace of mind for owners that their horses are being carefully monitored at all times.
Most of our horses are long-term settled residents, but we are happy to accommodate shorter stays for holiday livery, or a short-term rehab or convalescence.
As a long-serving BHS Welfare Adviser and FATE Adviser (‘Friends At The End’), Katy has extensive experience in supporting horses and owners through euthanasia – both practically and emotionally. Owners looking for a peaceful sanctuary for horses that require a short period of rest before euthanasia are welcomed at Penmeneth. It is our honour to provide loving and respectful end-of-life care for your treasured friend.
Laminitic and EMS horses/ponies are catered for, as well as ‘poor-doers’ requiring additional nourishment. Medications can be administered as required.
Owners are welcome to visit at any time and we have regular coffee/prosecco gatherings and trips out to horsey events for those that like to socialise.
