Yard Details

We are a quiet and friendly, family-run yard based in Market Drayton, North Shropshire, close to the Staffordshire and Cheshire borders.

Run by husband and wife; Tim and Sandy – and a small team of staff.

Offering DIY, assisted and full livery for adults only. Livery packages can be tailored to suit.

We have been an established riding school for many years, which has now been scaled back to 2 half days a week, with an outlook to reduce further in the future.

Riders of any ability are welcome, and you can ride in any weather with both indoor and outdoor school available: Indoor school 42m x 22m silica sand / rubber, and outdoor flodlit school silica sand / PVC, with full set of showjumps.

The yard has 12ft x 12ft Kingsland stables (external), secure alarmed tackroom, communal storage areas and offers small herd turnout (some small individual paddocks if required)

Lorry / trailer parking is available.

Visiting instructors are welcome.

I honestly can’t recommend Freshfields Livery Yard in Market Drayton highly enough. Finding the right place for your horse is such a big decision and trust and peace of mind are key factors. Sandy, Tim and the team are so supportive knowledgable, passionate about what they do and atmosphere is fab. Everyone is so welcoming and shares the same love for their horses. The yard is always very tidy, clean and well run, and there’s a calm, happy feel about the place and the facilities are very good. Highly recommend Freshfields to anyone looking for a kind, well-run yard in North Shropshire area.

Best yard I’ve been to! I have recently moved my youngster here after a recommendation from my trainer. This yard is perfect! He’s settled in so well and the owners Sandy and Tim have been so helpful and accommodating, checking him for me and always available if I need them whilst I’m at work, so reassuring! The facilities are beautifully maintained with the arenas being harrowed frequently and fields being poo hoovered. There’s also a variety of jumps and equipment to hand and they’re always happy to help if needed. Another reassuring note is that all of their own ponies are beautifully kept, pampered and so happy! I have worked on many professional yards and honestly it’s so refreshing to be on a yard where everybody are so warm, welcoming and feel like a little equestrian family 😊 no drama or judging just all the support! 😊
