We are proud of our strict welfare and worming policy that is supported and lead by our local veterinary practice our 90% of horses on the yard not requiring treatment is higher than the national average, due to everyone working to the yard goal. We are offering experienced professional care for your horse, where your horse’s welfare always comes first. All Equines onsite are fully vaccinated making us the ideal location for the competitive rider. We offer excellent facilities all maintained to the highest of standards and in an idyllic setting Individual stable blocks and American Barn stabling. Grazing in individual paddocks, Unrestricted daytime turnout in winter choice of 24/7 in summer, Riding and exercising facilities include Floodlit 20*40 schooling arena, floodlit 40*40 jumping arena, Grass jumping field, Summer XC Schooling and Horse walker. Good local hacking plus 2 miles of farm track hacking. Large area next to all stables to store personal equipment, plus separate storage space to keep own individual forage. Secure site with electric gate access. Flexible early and late access to fit around a busy schedule Onsite BHS APC coach and regular visiting coaches, and clinics. I honestly could not imagine being anywhere else. I moved to Elker after being at a different yard where my confidence had dropped massively. Having not ridden since I was a child and starting again as an adult, it has been a daunting process, but I feel so supported here. My horse is so settled at Elker, which gives me such peace of mind. While I am not fully confident yet, I am on a journey with a truly knowledgeable team. Carrie, the yard owner, has invested so much of her own time into both me and my horse to help me progress. Nothing is ever too much trouble. When I bought a pony for my children that turned out to be unexpectedly in foal, it was a complete stress. Carrie and Joyce have been incredible, supporting me throughout and arranging a place of safety for my mare to foal. Knowing I have their expert guidance for when the foal arrives is a huge weight off my mind.As a shift worker, the management here is a lifesaver. With an on-site vet, vaccinations and worming are handled in my absence with my consent. This has been amazing and makes balancing a busy job and horse ownership actually possible. I’ve been at Elker for nearly two years now. The facilities are amazing, and I feel so lucky to have found such a professional, caring environment for my horses to call home. Thank you team Elker.
Where do I start , absolute paradise not only for the horses but for the owners aswell , I’m not sure any yard would beat this for facilities , turnout, attention to detail but most importantly the owners! Nothing is ever to much trouble, they go above and beyond! Welfare is a priority and they actually care for you and your horses, I wish I had moved here years ago , as soon as the horses came they were instantly settled and I knew we had made the best decision of the year , looking forward to many happy years here enjoying the horses and using all the amazing facilities at hand 😌
I came to Carrie after having over ten years on my own land , the land was sold so I had to find somewhere however as I’m sure Al horse owners know not all yards are great and the one a thought was ok was herrendous. So I came across carries and I knew from the first look it was the right place for us , it’s quiet no bitching no competition between people just a lovely safe relaxed place , it’s kept to the highest of standards so every horse is safe . I wish I had found it years ago . And I’m so pleased my old mare had a lovely place to retire too . Thank you Carrie

I’ve had an amazing time at Elker, I knew my stay would be short and sweet due to relocating but the team was so helpful understanding and supportive, the best care and amazing facilities! 5*
I was at elker for about 11 months with my racehorse. It was perfect for me because I did miles of roadwork and was in riding distance from the gallops. I could give my horse turnout everyday which is a luxury for any racehorse but something I believe in. Owners always happy to help. Was perfect for me.

5 * lovely family run business fabulous facilities nothing to much trouble for Steve or Carrie to help you out with, like putting my hay barn up with a shelf in it so the hay doesn’t go right down the bottom and waste the hay
