New BGA Video Revealing the Impact of Poor Employment Practices

As part of  Good Employment Week, a new video from the British Grooms Association reveals the impact that bad employment can have. And the positive difference Good Employment makes!

All employed workers should be on a payroll, receive a salary, and have rights like sick pay, and holiday entitlement. They may even be provided with accommodation. Understanding employment status, and legal obligations for employers is crucial. All grooms deserve legal hours, pay that is at least the NMW, legal holiday entitlement, a written employment contract and to work in a positive, happy environment.

“It is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that employment practices within the equestrian industry meet legal requirements, plus adhere to best practice. Together we need to make working with horses an attractive career choice and in turn, achieve a sustainable workforce.”

Tullis Matson, EEA President
