Riding schools run on more than a booking form. Trottr brings the diary, the horses, the payments and the daily records into one place — and gives riders something to keep.
Running a riding school means keeping many moving parts together: riders, instructors, horses, lesson spaces, payments and daily records. A booking is only one part of the job. Trottr brings those everyday tasks into one platform, alongside a personalised school profile and a rider experience that continues after the lesson.
Founded by Alex Price-Richards and Dexter Stewart, Trottr is inviting riding schools to become Pioneer Partners, with personal support from the founders to get started and the opportunity to shape what comes next. The current school platform has no subscription fee, listing fee or Trottr commission on lessons.
Make your school recognisable
Your Trottr listing can reflect the place riders will actually visit. Add photographs, explain your services and introduce your horses and instructors through their own profiles, including pictures and biographies. Set your own lesson prices and availability, and give prospective riders a clearer sense of your school before they book.
For an existing client, familiar faces and horses help make the move online feel personal. For someone new, those details help answer the questions that matter: what is offered, who teaches here and what is this school like?
Bring bookings and the working day together
Riders can browse availability, book and pay online. The school diary brings instructors, horses and arenas into the daily picture. For one-to-one lessons, availability draws on opening hours, exceptions, instructor rotas and available resources. Scheduled group sessions use the places you make available.

Instructors can manage availability for each school they work with and see their work across yards in one timetable. Schools can see coverage when planning lessons. Lesson bundles and late availability give you further ways to offer sessions to clients.

Card payments are handled through the school’s own
Stripe account. Booking and payment information can be managed alongside the diary, with balances and payouts visible through the connected payment tools. Riders can view their bookings and cancel within the school’s cancellation rules.
Give horse care and workload a place in the day
A horse profile can hold more than a name and photograph. Records include passport details, UELN and microchip information, suitability information, unavailability and regular days off.
Care records help you keep track of events such as farrier and veterinary visits, with due and overdue information. Welfare records cover areas including body condition, lameness, behaviour and weight estimates, so observations can be recorded against the horse.

Bookings with an assigned horse contribute to workload records. Other work, such as schooling, hacking or lunging, can be added manually. Schools can set their own workload limits and review flags when those limits are exceeded. These flags support staff decisions; they do not automatically stop a horse working.

Make the rider experience worth coming back to
Riders have their own account, booking history and rider profiles. Families can manage multiple riders together, keeping individual riding information while booking and paying through one account. Lesson bundles can provide account credit for future sessions.
The Rider Passport gives that experience a more personal thread. It brings together school stamps, horses ridden and rosettes marking riding milestones. Completed bookings build a record of the schools visited and, where a horse was assigned, the horses ridden. It is a way to remember and celebrate the journey, rather than a formal assessment of riding ability.

The account holder can also complete an encrypted health declaration, including relevant conditions, medication, allergies and an emergency contact, alongside a digital waiver. School access to these declarations is still being developed, so schools must continue their existing process for collecting and reviewing essential rider information.
Keep everyday safety records closer to the work
Trottr includes daily safety checks, incident and near-miss reporting, PPE records and horse welfare logging. Staff can record information while the details are fresh, with photographs and capture details where supported.

The school remains responsible for deciding what checks and records it needs, and for meeting its own licensing and other obligations. Trottr provides practical recording tools; it does not confer BHS approval or guarantee an inspection outcome.
Understand the price before you start
Schools currently pay no subscription or listing fee, and Trottr takes no commission from the school’s lesson price. The offer includes the school profile, booking tools, diary and operational records described above. Stripe payment processing terms still apply.
Trottr is funded through a separate rider booking fee: £2.95 for the first session in a checkout, plus 60p for each additional session. One session therefore carries a £2.95 fee; four sessions checked out together carry £4.75. The fee is based on sessions, not the number of riders, and applies to existing clients as well as new ones. It is shown before payment.
Rider accounts and the Rider Passport are free. There is currently no paid school subscription tier. Schools can review the current offer on the pricing page before deciding whether the arrangement works for them.
