This year’s Good Employment Week (GEW) runs from Monday 17th November to Sunday 23rd November, and we’re thrilled to be supporting this once again.
Led by the Equestrian Employers Association (EEA) and the British Grooms Association (BGA), GEW is all about highlighting the importance of good employment practices and fostering positive, supportive workplaces in the equestrian industry.
With public scrutiny on equestrian at an all-time high, there has never been a more important time to showcase the positive aspects of our industry. GEW is a perfect opportunity to celebrate strong working relationships on yards across the UK and share best practice with fellow employers, grooms, and support staff.
At LiveryList, we are proud to support good employment, because happy, supported staff are key to running safe, sustainable, and successful yards — which benefits everyone, including the horses in their care.
A highlight of Good Employment Week is the now-established Give Your Staff a Pizza Day on Friday 21st November, celebrating the hard work and dedication of yard teams.
The EEA provides expert guidance for employers on all aspects of employment, while the BGA champions the welfare, training, and professional development of grooms. The EEA also encourages employers to sign up to their Code of Good Employment, which covers legalities, compliance, fair pay, safe working conditions, and good management practices. This ensures that both employers and staff have access to the support and advice they need to thrive.
Good Employment Week is a chance to celebrate and promote workplaces where staff feel valued, horses are well cared for, and yards can operate successfully and sustainably.
