BETA Launches 2025 Summer of Safety Campaign

The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) has officially launched its much-anticipated 2026 Summer of Safety, continuing its mission to raise awareness around rider and equine safety across the UK. Building on the momentum of previous years, the campaign returns with a renewed focus on education, innovation, and industry collaboration.

What is the Summer of Safety?

First introduced in 2021, the Summer of Safety is BETA’s annual initiative aimed at promoting best practices, safe equipment, and responsible riding through a series of educational events, digital campaigns, and partnerships with key stakeholders in the equestrian world. The campaign typically runs throughout the summer months and targets riders of all levels, from grassroots to professionals.

In past editions, the campaign featured topics ranging from correct helmet fitting and body protector standards to horse hydration, pasture management, and transport safety. Through webinars, video tutorials, in-store events, and expert Q&As, BETA has consistently offered accessible, practical content for the equestrian community.

The 2026 campaign promises to be the most engaging yet, with a strong focus on digital interactivity, including live workshops on rider biomechanics, new safety technology showcases, and a nationwide “Check Your Kit” week encouraging riders to review the condition and fit of their safety gear.

New for 2026, BETA will also introduce a “Yard Safety Challenge,” inviting riding centres and livery yards to take part in safety audits and compete for recognition and prizes.

The campaign continues to benefit from the involvement of numerous brands and organisations. Participating this year are major equestrian companies such as Charles Owen, Airowear, Horseware Ireland, and NAF, alongside governing bodies like British Eventing, British Dressage, and The Pony Club. Their support enables BETA to deliver high-quality, trustworthy advice and resources to riders nationwide.

LiveryList have been embers of BETA since 2022, and often feature in their own live Q&A on an important yard-related safety topic alongside Claire Williams. Keep your eyes peeled as we share the top tips and content from this years campaign across our own channels.

Claire Williams, Executive Director of BETA, commented: “The Summer of Safety is all about empowering riders to make informed choices. Safety should be second nature – and this campaign helps ensure that message stays front and centre during the busiest time of the equestrian calendar.”

As the 2026 Summer of Safety gets underway, riders can follow along via BETA’s website and social media channels, with fresh content released weekly throughout the summer.
