Springwood Farm is a small, friendly DIY only yard in Stanton Hill, Sutton in Ashfield, run by Chris, an experienced yard owner with a degree in Equine Industry Management and over 13 years of livery management experience.
I aim to follow the 3 Fs, friends, forage and freedom. We always aim for horses on the yard to be turned out with companions wherever possible, providing forage as close to ad lib as the circumstances allow, and as much turnout as the seasons and conditions permit. This shapes every decision made on the yard, and it is their home first and foremost.
We are LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent friendly, and open to owners of all experience levels and backgrounds. All I ask is that you look after your horse well and treat the yard and everyone else with respect.
This is a hands on, caring yard, where I’m out every day and involved in what’s going on. I know all the horses by name and personality, and I feel for them almost as much as the owner when they’re ill.
New horses WILL go through a 2-week isolation period for everyone’s safety and wellfare.
We have solid brick built stables, a manege (to be replaced this year), year-round turnout with 24-hour in the summer when conditions allow. We are a small yard with liveries who genuinely muck in together and help each other out. We have contracts, a yard handbook with rules, and a yard worm count policy that everyone must follow.
We currently have spaces available for horses and owners of the right fit. If this sounds like your kind of place, get in touch and we’ll do a visit so we can see if we are both right for each other.
