EEA Launches 2026 Survey to Inform National Minimum Wage Consultation

The Equestrian Employers Association (EEA) has launched its 2026 survey to gather evidence from equestrian employers ahead of the UK Government’s next National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage recommendations.

The findings will inform the EEA’s submission to the Low Pay Commission (LPC), the independent body responsible for advising Government on minimum wage rates, including those expected to apply from April 2027.

As the only organisation representing equestrian employers in this consultation process, the EEA is calling on yard owners, managers, and equestrian businesses that employ staff such as grooms and support workers to take part and ensure the sector’s voice is heard.

The survey takes approximately 5–10 minutes to complete and is open to both members and non-members of the EEA. Responses will be anonymised, though participants are advised that submissions may be shared in public consultation materials.

The EEA emphasised that participation is especially important given the annual nature of the consultation process, encouraging employers to take part even if they have completed previous surveys. The data collected helps the organisation represent real-world employment conditions within the equestrian sector, including pay structures, workforce pressures, and operational challenges.

The LPC reviews this evidence alongside wider economic data before making its recommendations on minimum wage thresholds to Government.

The EEA is encouraging employers across the industry to complete the survey and share it with others working within equestrian businesses.
