Launch of New ‘Horsey Helper’ Service Makes Finding Yard Cover Easier

The LiveryList team has been working with keen equestrians, Myles and Amber Barford, to help develop Horsey Helper – a simple, dependable platform that connects horse owners with experienced Helpers when they need an extra hand.

The concept first caught the LiveryList team’s attention at the National Equine Show last March, where they saw both the potential benefits and the challenges such a service could pose for yard owners. Working closely with the founders, LiveryList helped ensure the platform encourages good communication with yards, biosecurity, insurance, competence, and security when third-party help is arranged.

While some yards do not allow external service providers, many do, and Horsey Helper offers a safe and reliable way for owners to find trusted help. It’s a two-way benefit: owners gain peace of mind, and Helpers can earn money doing something they love.

This service may be particularly useful for DIY liveries or yards where owners are permitted to bring in third-party help, allowing horse owners to find vetted, reliable assistance at reasonable rates. It could even extend to yard owners using the platform to find temporary or regular cover for their own yard.

Myles and Amber explain:

“Horsey Helper connects horse owners with trusted, local Helpers who can provide practical horse care services. All bookings and management are handled through the website, making it simple and safe for everyone involved. Our first focus is building a strong Helper community.”

Horsey Helper provides:

  • A growing pool of vetted Helpers offering set services at reasonable rates

  • Guidance around insurance, biosecurity, and expectations for both horse owners and Helpers

  • A flexible way to find additional hands when needed

Anyone 18+ who is reliable, experienced with horses, and interested in earning money helping look after them can join for free. Yard owners’ insights and feedback are especially valuable to the founders, helping ensure the platform works well for all parties.

Horsey Helper will also be at the National Equine Show on Saturday 28 Feb – Sunday 1 March 2026, and attendees are encouraged to stop by and learn more.

By connecting trusted helpers with horses that need care, Horsey Helper aims to support horse owners, yard owners, and the wider equestrian community safely and professionally.
