Affinity Showjumping – Where the horse’s mental and physical well-being comes first.

At Affinity Showjumping we specialise in backing and producing all types of horses and ponies; as well as problem solving and correcting misunderstood and problematic ponies and horses.

Affinity Showjumping is a family run business headed by showjumper and young horse producer Jade Meagher, who has a real affinity for sensitive and quirky horses. Jade has worked for and been trained by numerous top showjumpers over the decades and is continually expanding her areas of expertise.

Here at Affinity Showjumping we believe in treating our horses as individuals, highlighting and encouraging their strengths, personalities and attributes whilst improving upon their weaker areas. Jade uses patient, gentle and sympathetic methods and horsemanship both on the ground and ridden, which ensures sound horses both physically and mentally. Jade is small and lightweight with a light seat and soft hands which means she can cater to ponies from 11hh right through to 18hh horses. We want longevity for our horses so they are never rushed or over faced with a task they aren’t ready for. The mental and physical well being of the horses at Affinity Showjumping comes above and before anything else.

Training packages

We are able to accommodate ponies from 11hh right through to 18hh horses on all our packages, with the exception of competition livery which is solely for horses working towards or competing in British Showjumping senior classes.

Backing / Breaking in

We understand how paramount it is to the breaking process and the ridden future of the horse that the fundamental steps are done correctly. We also understand how difficult it can be to decide who to trust with your horse/pony’s early years education. Jade has decades of experience in breaking and producing all kinds of different horses and ponies.

All horses/ponies are started from the ground up, using sympathetic, clear and patient horsemanship, installing in the horse boundaries, confidence and a willingness to work together with their rider/ handler. Jade never rushes or over faces the horse with a task that they aren’t ready for. She ensures they have fully understood each step of their learning before progressing to the next, which helps create a sound horse both in body and mind and that is happy and confident in their bodies and in the work being asked of them.

Horses and ponies can be produced on to what ever level the owner desires.

All full board training packages include light airy, over sized monarch stables within a social barn setting, full, miscanthus bed complete with auto drinkers. A choice of ad-lib meadow haylage or hay to suit, fully customised feed including Bluechip original, Bluechip Dynamic and non-medical supplements (such as biotin) as required. As well as individual or pair daily turnout. All horses on livery receive outstanding care and are treated as our own; benefiting from a specifically tailored exercise, management and competition programme.
